wings+horns x BYBORRE

Byborre partnered with wings+horns to develop a custom multi-dimensional Byborre fabric for two FW15 limited edition bomber jackets and an out-of-this-world space suit made from Byborre fabric.

For the limited edition bomber jackets made for the fall/winter 2015 collection, the final fabric was Byborre’s interpretation of the signature wings+horns ‘Tiger Spruce’ camouflage pattern. The fabric had characteristics of a signature Byborre knit: polyester fill for warmth, premium cottons, and innovative knit design. Working with Tung Vo, a lead designer at wings+horns, Byborre were able to translate the “Tiger Spruce” camouflage pattern into a textured knit in two colourways.

The wings+horns x Byborre bomber is designed and made in Canada. Details include articulated stretch-nylon sleeves insulated with Polartec Alpha, signature pebbled snaps, and a co-branded leather interior patch.

a presentation to the future with a future fabric

For the launch of this special collaboration Borre and Tung worked together to design a spacesuit made of unique Byborre fabric. Fitted on body, the space suit was tried and tested making sure that each panel was constructed to last.

Once both Vo and Akkersdijk were satisfied, the various components were sewn together into one coherent piece, and the neck-to-knee-length asymmetrical zip fixed into place to hold it all together.
