Redbull x BYBORRE

Embark on an odyssey into a futuristic experiment of sensory stimulation in club culture. Byborre used data gathered from the ultimate club night to create a unique textile design used in limited edition scarves.

When Red Bull asked Byborre to explore the future of club culture the studio put together a team of researchers and scientists as well as specialists on all aspects of club culture. The result was a multi sensory experience in the shape of two experimental club nights which included mind expanding culinary experiences, a custom created scent and a variety of fresh ways to experience the music presented by an international roster of top DJ’s.

To bring everything together with technology as a sixth sense Byborre asked the brilliant minds at CWI to help develop the technology for the Byborrre bracelets that partygoers wore. These bracelets tracked each person’s ‘flight of the night’, which included data on what area the guest stayed at the longest, what music they danced most to and what their absolute highlight song of the night was.

Byborre also invited data driven design agency Clever Franke to collaborate on the project. They worked on creating a wonderful visualisation of the data generated through these bracelets each night. This data was both immediately projected in the club during the nights and every partygoer could check out their personal ‘flight of the night’ afterwards.

Friends of the studio came in from all over the world for two nights of epic partying during Amsterdam Dance Event. Everything was documented by filmmaker Lisa Smidt, who then made a short documentary about the whole project, produced by Halal.
